First Night Canfield awards button design to Canfield student

First Night Canfield named Emily Dunlap, a ninth-grade Canfield resident, the winner of the button design contest for First Night Canfield 2016.
First Night Canfield offers a $300 award annually to the designer for their button. The painting will be featured on this year’s button, which will be sold to gain admission into all venues for First Night Canfield.
The board of directors and founders of First Night Canfield have always hoped to use First Night Canfield as a platform to help young artists get their start on a bright future. This year, the teen venue at Rush Church in Canfield is hoping to put many teen submitted art pieces on display.
Dunlap resides in Canfield with her mother, father, older brother and sister. She has many interests outside of art. She is currently studying for her ballet exams, as she studies the Cecchetti style of ballet at Kathi’s Dance and Gym Center. She also enjoys playing piano and cooking vegan dishes. She is currently illustrating a children’s book.
