State patrol probes truck mishap on Interstate 80

WEATHERSFIELD — The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating an accident the closed the westbound lanes of Interstate 80 for about an hour in Weathersfield Township Thursday night.

The accident, which involved a truck and other vehicles occurred near the Salt Springs Road interchange shortly before 9 p.m.

Troopers had no reports of serious injuries.

The crash happened just two hours after the Ohio Department of Transportation reduced westbound traffic on I-80 to one lane just west of Salt Springs Road and state Route 46 as part of a highway construction project, according to 21-WFMJ TV, The Vindicator's broadcast partner. That lane restriction is scheduled to remain in effect until 6 a.m. Friday.
