Powell gets early release from Niles theft conviction

WARREN — A Judge in Trumbull County Common Pleas Court released Heidi Powell this morning, about six weeks early from her sentence for stealing from the city of Niles.

Powell, 34, of West Park Avenue in Niles, stole $731 from her job as income tax investigator and was sentenced to six months in prison.

In releasing Powell, Judge W. Wyatt McKay said Powell would remain on probation five years so the court "can hopefully guide you through any problems with your criminality."
