Niles 59, Struthers 58, OT
Brylen Caddiell hit the go-ahead free throw with fives seconds left in overtime for Niles. Struthers missed it’s chance to steal the win by missing a layup after stealing an inbounds pass.
Brookfield 53, Liberty 52
In double overtime, Brookfield pulled out a win over Liberty. For the Warriors, Brian Hiner scored 28 points against the Leopards and ended the game with the winning basket in double overtime. For Liberty, Ja’Shaun Whitman scored 10 points. Whitman sent the game into OT with a basket late in the fourth quarter.
Champion 75, Girard 72
Girard entered the final quarter with an 11-point defict and a 26-17 fourth was not enough. Lucas Nasonti led Champion with 30 points, Michael Turner put up 14 points and Eric Karasa added 12. Anthony Graziano and Mike Guyer led Girard with 19 and 18 points, respectively. Also finishing in double figures for Girard were Durrell Richardson with 11 points and Mark Standohar with 10.
Columbiana 79, Heartland 35
Jared Wilson scored 21 points. Burdette Baker also contributed 18 points, and Dalton Miller tacked on 12 points for the Clippers. For Heartland, Zack Barnes and Nathan Sommers each contributed 10 points.
Edgewood 49, Hubbard 37
For Edgewood, Matt DiDonato scored 13 points. Mitchell Dragon also contributed 12 points. For the Eagles, both Adam Schroeder and Davion Daniels contributed 11 points.
LaBrae 66, Campbell 43
Michael Eakins was among LaBrae’s leaders with 11 and Tariq Drake and Aaron Iler each scored 10. Trey Edwards had 15 points for Campbell and Ray Rue scored 12 points in defeat.
Lisbon 80, Western Reserve 54
Josh Craig and Austin Rutecki scored 24 and 22 points, respectively, as Lisbon downed Reserve. Also finishing in double figures were Avery Andric with 12 points and Josh Liberati with 10. Cody Hilles led the Blue Devils with 14 points.
Lowellville 70, United 38
Cole Beatty scored 16 points and Vito Bell had 11 for the Rockets. Jake Clark scored 15 points for United.
McDonald 78, Southern 72
McDonald won behind Jake Reckard’s team-high 19 points. In the loss, Southern got a strong effort from Troy Holder with 20 points and Christian Adkins and Cominic Michael each scored 18 points.
Mineral Ridge 81, Crestview 38
Zane Rummell scored a game-high 17 points as Mineral Ridge routed the Rebels. The Rams also received 16 points from Albert Alli, while Austin Reese scored 12 points, Mac White scored 11 and Rico Rodriguez added 10.
Mathews 60, Conneaut 48
Mathews (2-0, 1-0) was paced by Clay O’Dell’s 27 points and Chris McVicker’s 21 points as it defeated Conneaut. Justin Myers led Conneaut with 22 points as it fell to 1-2.
Newton Falls 89, Southington 60
Jaden Walton went off with 32 points for Newton Falls. Noah Suarez and Joey Urso each had 12 points and Allen Boone and Vince Dragich each scored 11 in a decisive victory, Tommy Hall scored 20 points to lead Southington and Eric Wilson added 14 points.
Poland 62, Howland 48
Poland has won three straight thanks to the efforts of Mike Gajdos’ 16 points, Matt Baker’s 15 and Nick Buccieri’s 12. Luciano Romero led Howland with 15 points.
South Range 59, Leetonia 38
Dan Ritter scored 14 points for the Raiders. He was followed closely by Preston Stitt with 12 and Anthony Ritter with 10. For Leetonia, Roman Ferry scored 10 points.
Wellsville 64, Springfield 45
Justin Miller scored a game-high 22 points as Wellsville downed Springfield. The Tigers used a 21-7 first quarter to key their victory. Springfield was led by Graham Mincher’s 11 points.
