Man gets life in Ohio prison for fatal shooting during robbery

COLUMBUS (AP) — A 31-year-old man convicted in a deadly robbery at a Columbus drug house has been sentenced to life in prison.

The Columbus Dispatch reports Raphael Person was ordered on Monday to serve the sentence with no chance of parole for 41 years.

He was convicted last week of murder, aggravated robbery and related offenses for being one of three men who forced their way into Brandon Leonard’s house looking for drugs in May 2012. Leonard, 26, was shot and killed during the robbery.

Person was also convicted in October of participating in a Craigslist robbery scheme. Prosecutors say he and three others brought cars, then stole the money back at gunpoint and kept the vehicle. He hasn’t been sentenced in that case.
