Police probe house in 'deplorable' condition on the South Side

YOUNGSTOWN — Police and the Mahoning County Dog Warden's office are at a home in the 700 block of Old Furnace Road after they found a decomposed dog and a house filled with feces.

Police were called after the dog warden found the dog. Safety forces called the conditions "deplorable," saying some of the rooms in the house have feces stacked up a foot high.

There are at least four dogs in the home, but officials need to get special suits to go in and check the house out
