Mahoning Valley BBB takes applications for scholarship

The Better Business Bureau of the Mahoning Valley is accepting applications for its Ethics and Integrity Scholarship from high-school seniors with a primary residence in Columbiana, Mahoning and Trumbull counties.

The scholarship program provides five $1,000, one-year, post-secondary scholarships to graduating high-school seniors.

Applicants must be the child or grandchild of the owner or employees of an accredited business. A child is defined as a son, daughter, grandson or granddaughter.

YNDC offering small-business loans of $1K to $10K

YOUNGSTOWN

Youngstown Neighborhood Development Corp. has small-business loans available to help support new and existing business owners in Mahoning County.

Loans of $1,000 to $10,000 are available with flexible and favorable terms and a low interest rate (2 percent until the end of 2015).

Businesses can be in the start-up phase or can be in operation. Interested entrepreneurs can set up a one-on-one meeting to see if the YNDC can help.

Funding support comes from the Ohio Community Development Corporation Association and the Burton D. Morgan Foundation.

PALO Creative continues work with Talmer Bank

PALO Creative, a full-service advertising and digital-media agency based in Youngstown, recently announced it is working on a new marketing campaign for Talmer Bank.

Talmer Bank and Trust’s Championship Dreams marketing campaign comes to an end this month. PALO Creative is working with the Michigan-based bank to keep the momentum going into the first quarter of 2016 with fresh campaigns.

PALO rolled radio spots, print ads, a social media strategy and in-store marketing materials for 83 locations in five states — Illinois, Michigan, Nevada, Indiana and Ohio.

Fitch to host trade fair for students

AUSTINTOWN

On Wednesday, Austintown Fitch will host its semi-annual trade fair.

This year, the trade fair will be open to all high-school students, not only juniors and seniors as in years past.

Representatives from the Western Reserve Building Trades will be at the high school from 8 to 10 a.m. to showcase at least 15 different trades to the students.
