Youngstown State University Campus Ministry will conduct “Pray for Peace at the Rock,” a silent vigil for peace, from 9 to 9:30 a.m. Wednesday. All faiths are welcome.

Winter coats to be distributed today

YOUNGSTOWN

The Salvation Army, in partnership with Rotary District 6650, Division 1A, has geared up for a holiday distribution of new winter coats to needy children in Mahoning County. From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. today at the Salvation Army, 1501 Glenwood Ave., more than 1,000 new winter coats will be distributed to pre-registered needy children for free. Additional winter coats will be distributed to parents who did not register their children, on a first-come, first-served basis after 2 p.m.
