Project will improve pedestrian experience on Lincoln Avenue at YSU
Staff report
YOUNGSTOWN
The city is planning $1.2 million in improvements to enhance pedestrian safety along Lincoln Avenue from Fifth Avenue east to Wick Avenue on the North Side.
Charles Shasho, the city’s deputy director of public works, said the money is from a federal earmark grant received a few years ago. The grant, which also funded a study, is specifically for pedestrian and vehicular traffic. The study centered around the Youngstown State University campus.
The project involves roadway resurfacing, new curb/gutter and curb ramps, sidewalk, street lighting, crosswalks, landscaping, and new street signs and pavement striping.
