A summary of recent activity in Girard, Liberty and Hubbard:
GIRARD
Nov. 26
Child endangerment: Officers were dispatched to a North State Street eatery regarding a complaint of an intoxicated man with two children. No charges had been filed at the time of the report, however.
Menacing: An Emma Street woman reported a co-worker had sent her text messages implying threats with a firearm. Earlier, the man had driven past her residence, she told authorities.
Menacing: A North Highland Avenue man said a relative threatened him and threatened to steal a flat-screen TV from the accuser’s home.
Nov. 27
Domestic violence: A Girard girl, no age given, was charged after her father alleged that during an argument pertaining to items found in her room, the teen kicked his chest and knocked the accuser to the ground.
Nov. 29
Menacing: An Iowa Avenue woman reported having received threatening calls stating that her daughter would be harmed.
Dec. 1
Aggravated menacing: A man told police that during an argument with another driver on U.S. Route 422, the motorist pulled out a gun.
Criminal mischief: A BB or a pellet was used to do $1,000 in damage to a vehicle’s driver’s side on Church Hill Road.
Criminal mischief: A woman driving near Church Hill Road and North State Street reported something caused her car’s passenger-side window to shatter.
Theft: A total of $12 was missing from two residents of an East Wilson Avenue care facility.
Dec. 2
Truck theft: A 1996 Chevrolet S-10 pickup truck was stolen in the 100 block of Dearborn Street.
LIBERTY
Nov. 26
Felonious assault: Authorities responding to a report of a vehicle being used without permission arrested 45-year-old Kevin J. Story of Colonial Drive, Youngstown, on charges of felonious assault, domestic violence and aggravated menacing after three people alleged Story had pointed a handgun at them and threatened to shoot them. A short time later, an Akron woman alleged he had done the same, and threatened to kill another person in Canton. Story has about 20 firearms, including an assault rifle, police were told.
Nov. 27
Criminal damaging: Someone at a Belmont Avenue motel used a key to damage a car’s passenger side. The damage estimate was $500.
Nov. 28
Domestic violence: Bilal H. Alhmeed, 47, of Colonial Drive, Youngstown, was charged with the crime after his wife was found with cuts to her left hand and finger, and after his son alleged an intoxicated Alhmeed had damaged a van, causing several family members to fear for their safety.
Breaking and entering: Someone broke into Shoe Show, a shoe store in the Liberty Plaza, through a front window, though it appeared nothing was missing.
Nov. 29
Criminal damaging: A Trumbull Avenue man reported someone in a baseball cap arrived in a black sport utility vehicle and broke four windows to his residence.
Weapon: Police reported that four men age 18 to 21 fled on foot as authorities attempted to conduct a traffic stop near Northgate Road. One of the men dropped a loaded handgun, a report said.
Vandalism: Three buildings and a tractor-trailer in the 3600 block of Belmont Avenue were spray-painted with graffiti. The damage came to $2,100.
Nov. 30
Robbery: A driver for Main Moon Chinese Restaurant, 1760 Belmont Ave., told authorities that while trying to make a delivery to an apartment in the 2900 block of Oakland Drive, two gunmen in black clothing with their faces covered demanded money and the food before ordering the victim to go in a nearby building.
Fraud: A resident of a Church Hill-Hubbard Road long-term care facility reported receiving a second letter from a collection agency stating he owes an $8,167 unpaid balance on his credit card that he said two other people had used.
Dec. 2
Assault/aggravated menacing: A Warren man alleged that while embroiled in an argument with him, a Church Hill Road man threatened him with a knife. The Church Hill Road man alleged the other man had tripped and pushed him to the ground.
HUBBARD
Nov. 28
Theft: A Caroline Avenue woman reported an envelope containing $120 in rent money was missing from a utility closet in her apartment building.
Nov. 29
Drugs: Police near Wheeler Avenue pulled over and issued a minor-misdemeanor citation charging April L. Gabriel, 23, of Clay Avenue, Youngstown, with marijuana possession and driving an unsafe vehicle. A bag containing a green leafy substance that tested positive for marijuana was found, a report showed.
Domestic violence: Russell G. Croll III, 49, of Drummond Avenue, Hubbard, was charged with the crime after his girlfriend alleged an intoxicated Croll had pushed her down and twice punched her face during an argument, leaving major swelling to the affected area.
