No arrests in Averette death
YOUNGSTOWN
No arrests have been made and no arrest warrants have been issued in the the death of a man found in his South Side home. The death is being investigated as a homicide.
City police Friday identified the man found shot to death Thursday morning at 807 High St. as Jeffrey Averette, 47, of that address.
A family member found Averette’s body in his residence at 8:15 a.m.
After an autopsy by Dr. Joseph Ohr, forensic pathologist and deputy coroner, the Mahoning County Coroner’s Office ruled the death a homicide, saying Averette died almost instantly of a gunshot wound to the head and multiple gunshot wounds to the chest.
