3 Valley retailers launch drives to benefit children’s hospital

Three local retailers have launched holiday-related toy and/or book drives to benefit patients at Akron Children’s Hospital Mahoning Valley.

Books-A-Million, Eastwood Mall, Niles, is collecting books through Dec. 19 that customers purchase at the store to donate for distribution to patients at the hospital’s two pediatrics offices in Warren. For information, call 330-505-9107.

The Skate Zone Fun Center, 5420 Mahoning Ave., Austintown, is hosting a drive for new, unopened and unwrapped toys through Dec. 18 to be distributed to patients. Toys can be brought to the Skate Zone. For information, visit www.skatezonefun.com or call 330-270-4386.

Youngstown Cycle Supply, 6915 Market St., Boardman, is conducting its fifth annual “Brighten Up for the Kids” holiday toy and book drive through Dec. 22 for children spending the holiday season in Akron Children’s.
