Winter Celebration

When: Starts Saturday

What: Enjoy a stroll through a re-imagined forest to discover enchanting fairies, a lifesize eagle’s nest, bountiful blooms, and the annual holiday tree walk. Every Saturday and Sunday, we are open until 8 p.m. for you to experience the Electric Garden.

HOLIDAY DECORATIONS WORKSHOP

When: Sunday, 2-4 p.m.

What: Drop in to make beautiful holiday decorations from natural and recycled materials.

Where: Huston-Brumbaugh Nature Center Visitors Center, 16146 Daniel St. NE., Minerva.

ACOUSTIC JAM

When: Sunday, 2-4 p.m.

What: Join us at the Nature Center for a music jam. Make new friends, have fun, and learn a new tune or two.

Where: Huston-Brumbaugh Nature Center Visitors Center, 16146 Daniel St. NE, Minerva.

Cost: Free

Details: Bring an instrument or just come to listen. Beginners are welcome. No registration required.

Boxwood Tree

When: Next Thursday, 6:30-8:30 p.m.

What: Join Deby Clark to decorate your home for the season with a beautiful tree made of fresh boxwood decorated with ornaments and ribbons.

Where: Fellows Riverside Gardens, McKinley Avenue, Youngstown.

Cost: $40; FFRG $34.

ASTRONOMY NIGHT

When: Dec. 11, 6-8 p.m.

What: Join Nature Center staff for an exploration of the night sky. A “new” moon should provide plenty of dark sky to pick out winter’s constellations.

Coffee with The Birds

When: Dec. 12, 9:30-11 a.m.

What: Watch birds with Ohio Certified Volunteer Naturalist Nancy Brundage while sipping coffee (or tea). Bring your favorite mug.

Botanical Art, Illustration EXHIBIT

When: Through Jan. 10 (closed Mondays), 9 a.m.–5 p.m.

What: Hunt Institute of Pittsburgh brings the work of 35 botanical documentation artists to the Weller Gallery.
