CAMPBELL
City council convened Wednesday evening for its first meeting under a newly elected administration that took office Tuesday.
The lawmakers reviewed an ordinance that would transfer $12,197 from the general fund to pay for an industrial lighting project, sending it to the second of three required readings.
The payment would close out a grant for lights installed along the Casey Drive industrial park this summer. The amount represents about 20 percent of the project’s $60,985 cost, according to Finance Director Michael Evanson. An Ohio Department of Transportation grant covered the remaining 80 percent.
In other business, the city is accepting applications until Dec. 11 for the city administrator position. Applicants should drop off resumes and cover letters at city hall, 351 Tenney Ave.
Additionally, Mayor Nick Phillips announced a lunch with Santa event, sponsored by various city officials, at noon Dec. 20 at St. Lucy’s Palermo Center, 394 Tenney Avenue.
The free event is open to Campbell students in preschool through seventh grade and their parents.
Council will have a caucus session at 7 p.m. Tuesday to discuss the fire department.
