Austintown cops look for suspect in theft
AUSTINTOWN
The Austintown Police Department continues looking for a man who may have been involved in a theft last week from an auto parked on a township street.
Police responded to a theft-from-auto call on Westminster Avenue on Thursday morning. A witness said he heard a loud noise coming from the parking lot and observed the suspect walking away from the victim’s vehicle.
Officers found the driver’s window smashed and a checkbook, parking pass, $5 bill and personal papers stolen from the vehicle.
The witness said the suspect was a scruffy looking, thin, white male in his 40s, about 6 feet tall with a white T-shirt and blue jeans. The suspect drove away in an older, beat-up, full-size pickup truck.
