TRUMBULL COUNTY

Upwards of 80 motorcycles, ATVs and dirt bikes spent about seven hours Sunday on Trumbull County roads and highways cutting off traffic, doing wheelies and endangering themselves and other drivers between 2 and 9 p.m.

Police in Liberty, Warren City, Champion and the Ohio State Highway Patrol arrested people involved who came from as far away as Toledo, Cleveland and Akron for the event that was organized on Facebook, according to Trumbull County 911.

Some of the participants were arrested while trying to load their vehicles onto trailers parked behind the Trumbull County Career Center in Champion. No injuries or traffic accidents were reported.

Man shot in leg

A man was victimized by two men who began by asking for directions and then robbed and shot him in the leg.

The incident occurred just before 7 p.m. Saturday on the 2000 block of Tyrell Avenue on the city’s West Side, according to 21 WFMJ-TV, The Vindicator’s broadcast partner.

According to police, the victim was hospitalized for his injuries, but is reported to be in stable condition. The names of the victim and suspects involved in the shooting have not been released by police.
