Boardman police handle 16 theft cases since Friday
BOARDMAN — Township police handled 16 theft cases between Friday and Sunday, resulting in five arrests.
Charged with misdemeanor theft for separate shop-lifting incidents at Walmart and Sears are: Troy Adkins, 18, of Youngstown; Acealeyah Dothard, 20, of Youngstown; William Hogan, 30, of Youngstown; and Jennie Stano, 38, of Warren. The charges against Dothard and Hogan, who were arrested on warrants, stem from incidents in July.
Adkins also was arrested on a warrant. He is charged with felonious assault and felony receiving stolen property after he was stopped by township police Friday because he allegedly was driving a stolen vehicle, in which police found the BB gun Adkins reportedly stole from Walmart. The assault charge is because Adkins reportedly slammed his car into a police cruiser after he was stopped.
Charged with felony theft for allegedly stealing $4,200 from PetSmart as an employee there is Symantha Manda, 24, of Niles.
Township police also are investigating several other theft cases reported since Friday, including a stolen vehicle case and an incident in which someone reportedly broke into Christ's Church on Glenwood Avenue and stole $500 and a Bible from a Sunday school room.
