Shrine club to host annual clambake

Youngstown Shrine Club’s annual Clambake will take place from 1 to 8 p.m. Sept. 12 at the club pavilion, 1697 W. South Range Road.

Lunch will be served from 1 to 4 p.m., and dinner will be served at 6:30 p.m. The dinner menu includes clams, corn on the cob, chicken, lobster and more.

This is an event for men only, and tickets must be purchased in advance. The cost is $85 per ticket. Only 500 tickets will be sold.

Companies and organizations also can reward employees and customers with tickets.

Yellow Brick Place 5K Color Run/Walk

The Yellow Brick Place will host a 5K Color Run/Walk at 8 a.m. Sept. 13 at Austintown Township Park, 6000 Kirk Road.

Yellow Brick Place was co-founded by Donna Detwiler of North Lima and Anna Aey of Canfield, both cancer survivors who have made it their mission to help people suffering from cancer by providing resources to lead them to fulfilling and self-directed lives. All services are free and non-medical.

On Sept. 12 there will be a grand opening from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. of No Place Like Home, 2959 Canfield Road, Suites 3 and 10, in Youngstown (at the Brandywine Plaza in Cornersburg).

This also is a nonprofit organization committed to making sure no cancer patients, survivors, caregivers or family members will face the journey alone.
