Biomedical engineering

John-Michael Williford of Austintown received his doctorate degree in biomedical engineering from the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in Baltimore on Aug. 18.

Williford is a 2006 graduate of Austintown Fitch High School and a 2010 graduate of the University of Akron. He will continue his research at the University of Chicago.

He is the son of David and Ellie Williford of Austintown and the husband of Shelby Mashburn Williford.
