Buddie, marijuana bud in white superhero suit, promotes passage of Ohio Issue 3

A giant green marijuana bud in a white superhero suit is traveling Ohio to help pass a pot legalization proposal this fall.

ResponsibleOhio says the mascot, named “Buddie,” is reserving promotional efforts to college campuses and other venues suitable for the “21 and Up Club.” He brandishes a “B” on an Ohio-shaped background on his chest, green gloves and boots, and a blue cape.

The campaign said that Buddie made a stop at the University of Toledo last week.

Issue 3 would legalize marijuana statewide for both medical and recreational use. It would establish 10 growing sites that are targeted in a separate anti-monopoly measure on the Nov. 3 ballot.
