The Beaver Township Park Board is hosting its Autumn Fest at the township nature preserve on state Route 165 from 1 to 5 p.m. Sept. 19.

Traffic restrictions set in Hermitage

HERMITAGE, Pa.

Traffic will be restricted by flaggers to one lane during daylight work hours on a section of U.S. Route 62 (East State Street) here due to a utility project expected to begin Tuesday and continue for about two months, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation.

Aqua Pennsylvania is scheduled to install a water main in the Route 62 roadway from Route 18 to Androla Drive.

PennDOT urges motorists to slow down in work zones, and to be alert to changing conditions, avoid distractions and pay attention to signs and flaggers.

Women vets

YOUNGSTOWN

The sixth Ohio Women Veterans Conference will be Sept. 12 at the Hilton Columbus at Easton, 3900 Chagrin Drive, Columbus. This is a venue change from its original location. Registration will take place from 8 to 9 a.m. and the conference will convene from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Transportation will be provided by the Mahoning County Veterans Service Commission for any local participants who wish to attend.

Escapee arrested in New Middletown

NEW MIDDLETOWN

Police arrested a man who escaped from a Lake County jail’s work farm in June.

James Crouse, 30, of Painesville was serving time on a work release and is believed to have walked away from the facility, New Middletown police said in a press release issued Saturday.

Painesville police were alerted to a Facebook posting by Crouse that said he was working at a local amusement company. He was then located and apprehended by New Middletown police without incident.

Crouse faces charges of probation violation, theft and escape. He was placed in the Mahoning County jail pending his extradition next week to Lake County.

Boil advisory lifted

VIENNA

The boil advisory that was issued Friday for Trumbull County Water customers that live on Ridge Road is now lifted.
