Prosecutors said a woman and her family were boarding up her home to try to keep her ex-boyfriend out, but he still managed to get inside and attack her.
Michael Wick, 45, was arraigned on a charge of aggravated burglary Friday in municipal court as well as warrants on traffic charges. Judge Elizabeth Kobly set his bond at $150,000.
Wick is accused of breaking into a home about 2:15 p.m. Aug. 22 in the 1900 block of Highlawn Avenue and attacking a woman inside.
Assistant City Prosecutor Shelli Freeze said the woman who lives there and her stepfather were trying to board up the house to keep Wick out when the stepfather left to get some materials.
About five minutes after he left, Wick appeared, got inside the home, hit the woman and knocked her down and took her cellphone and ran away.
The stepfather returned shortly afterward, and police were called.
Freeze told Judge Kobly that Wick has several convictions in the past, including for theft, domestic violence and stalking both in Ohio and Florida.
Judge Kobly also gave Wick a no-contact order for both the woman he is accused of assaulting and her home, should he be able to post bond.
