Chester Weathers III, 36, of Penhale Avenue, was arraigned Friday in Campbell Municipal Court on charges of trafficking in heroin, a fifth-degree felony, and possession of drug paraphernalia, a fourth-degree misdemeanor.

His preliminary hearing is set for Friday in court.

After his arraignment, police transferred custody of Weathers to the Struthers Police Department, where there is a warrant for his arrest on a charge of disorderly conduct. He will be arraigned on that charge Sept. 30 in Struthers Municipal Court.

Officers raided Weathers’ home at 476 Penhale Ave. on a search warrant Tuesday and found more than 10 grams of suspected heroin, a gun, scales with suspected heroin residue and about $600 in cash, Sgt. Joseph Pavlansky said.

Weathers also was arraigned Monday in Campbell Municipal Court on charges of kidnapping to restrain liberty and domestic violence.

A 26-year old woman told police Aug. 22 that Weathers had pushed her and tried to forcibly prevent her from leaving a home on Penhale. Weathers’ preliminary hearing on those charges has been set for Tuesday.
