Staff report

NEW MIDDLETOWN

Police arrested a man who escaped from a Lake County jail’s work farm in June.

James Crouse, 30, of Painesville was serving time on a work release and is believed to have walked away from the facility, New Middletown police said in a press release issued today.

Painesville police were alerted to a Facebook posting by Crouse that said he was working at a local amusement company. He was then located and apprehended by New Middletown police without incident.

Crouse faces charges of probation violation, theft and escape. He was placed in Mahoning County jail pending his extradition next week back to Lake County.
