Spirit Halloween has taken up residence at the Shops at Boardman Park in the former Party Max space. The Halloween retailer opened for business Thursday.

The retailer offers decorations, accessories and costumes for both children and adults. This location also will have hands-on interactive displays. There also is a companywide fundraising initiative known as the Spirit of Children.

This program provides 100 percent of all donations to Child Life Departments at local hospitals during the Halloween season and throughout the rest of the year.

Spirit Halloween will be open until Nov. 15.

Denny’s celebrates 35 years with deals

Denny’s, 4927 Mahoning Ave., will celebrate 35 years in the community this year and a recent remodeling by serving an all-day Grand Celebration on Saturday.

Denny’s will offer select diner classics at reduced prices of $2.99 to $5.99 from 8 a.m. until 10 p.m. Hundreds of additional prizes, including complimentary cups of Denny’s new signature coffee blends for one month, will be given away throughout the celebration.

Farmers dividend

The board of directors of Farmers National Banc Corp., the parent company of Farmers National Bank, declared a cash dividend of $0.03 per share. The common-stock cash dividend will have a record date of Sept. 11 and is payable to shareholders Sept. 30.

Ribbon-cutting for Patriot Homecare

WARREN

The Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony for Patriot Homecare, 900 Pine Ave. SE, at 2 p.m. today. A grand-opening celebration will run from 1 to 7 p.m., which will include a barbecue, raffles and prizes.

Patriot Homecare, which employs 40 home-care professionals and serves 10 counties, offers nursing, physical therapy, occupational therapy and medical social work.

The facility was founded by military veterans and lifelong friends Greg and Sean Davis and Craig Colton. The business said the new location in Warren reflects five years of growth.

Ohio Realtors: Signings up 8.5%

COLUMBUS

The Ohio Association of Realtors reports an 8.5 percent increase of single-family homes and condominiums put under agreement in July 2015 compared with the pace a year ago.

The rate of purchase contract signings in July nearly mirrored the market’s June 2015 index.

Ohio’s July Pending Home Sales Index of 152.6, a forward-looking indicator based on contract signings, increased 8.5 percent from July 2014 at 140.7. Activity in July fell a slight 0.7 percent from the level of agreements reached at 153.6 in June 2015.
