A summary of recent criminal activity in Hubbard and Girard:
HUBBARD
Aug. 20
Arrest: Brookfield police relinquished custody of 33-year-old Joseph D. McCoy of East Liberty Street, Hubbard. He was wanted on a warrant charging failure to appear for a pretrial hearing.
Threats: While conducting an investigation at a North Main Street business, police reported a 43-year-old Hermitage, Pa., man had threatened to kill a Hubbard man if authorities failed to take the man into custody.
Aug. 21
Arrest: Authorities picked up Stephanie D. Buxton, 25, at the Mahoning County jail. Buxton, of West Evergreen Avenue, Youngstown, was wanted on a Girard Municipal Court warrant charging failure to appear in court.
Aggravated menacing: A Drummond Avenue boy reported that while driving on North Main Street, a bearded man wearing a baseball cap, dark shirt and blue jeans pointed a gun at the teen when he pulled over to offer the person a ride, thinking the man was a relative.
Arrest: Police responded to a possible drug overdose at a Stewart Avenue home, where they took into custody 31-year-old Bruce J. Graban of Stewart, Hubbard, who was wanted on two warrants, one each from Hubbard and Pennsylvania.
Theft: A Caroline Avenue boy reported a Hubbard boy, 16, borrowed but failed to return some Xbox 360 games to him.
Arrest: While answering an animal-complaint call on Clingan Street, officers arrested 38-year-old Joseph W. Shipton after learning Shipton, of South Main Street, Hubbard, was wanted on a warrant charging failure to appear in court.
Aug. 22
Criminal damaging: Someone used a rock to crack and do an estimated $300 in damage to a window at a gym in the 100 block of Orchard Avenue. Also, a set of nearby steps had been spray painted.
Aug. 23
Citation: Officers handed a minor-misdemeanor citation to 42-year-old Robin M. Huber of Walnut Street, Hubbard, after saying her dog had been loose in the area. The charge was permitting a dog to run at large.
Aug. 24
Criminal mischief: Eggs were thrown at a vehicle in the 50 block of West Liberty Street, resulting in a $1,000 damage estimate to the finish.
Aug. 25
Menacing: Police issued 65-year-old Louis B. Lytell of West Park Avenue, Hubbard, a summons charging menacing after an elderly tenant alleged Lytell has continually harassed her, causing the accuser severe distress and to fear for her safety.
GIRARD
Aug. 22
Menacing: A man told police another man with whom the accuser is in a dispute about money and car repairs intentionally followed him in a vehicle in a threatening manner.
Identity fraud: A Smithsonian Street woman told police she had received an email, supposedly from Chase Bank, tricking her into providing her banking and personal information as part of a phishing scam.
Aug. 23
Vehicle theft: A motorcycle was stolen from a residence in the 30 block of Earl Street.
Theft: A Trumbull Avenue woman noticed her wallet missing from her car.
Theft: Two Trumbull Avenue women reported $40 and a camera tablet stolen.
Aug. 24
Harassment: A Ward Avenue man said a caller claimed the accuser had won $2.5 million but first needed to send a $300 processing fee. The caller also told the man an Internal Revenue Service agent was with him, a police report said.
Aug. 25
Menacing: A North Avenue man reported two neighbors threatened him regarding a loose dog.
Possible theft: Utility workers in the 40 block of Hancock Street alerted authorities to the possible theft of water from the company.
Theft: A Crumlin Avenue man noticed a wallet and $250 missing from his vehicle.
Aug. 26
Theft: An East Howard Street man reported a $500 electronic notebook stolen.
Breaking and entering: A witness reported having seen a man in black shorts and a white shirt breaking several windows and entering Burger King, 322 S. State St., before fleeing on a bicycle on nearby Abby Street.
