It’s All About Yarn stitched together all kinds of yarn fanatics on Aug. 17 at the Boardman library. During this class students learned about the art of grafting – the joining of two knitted pieces.

Librarian Karen Saunders led the class, bringing in projects of her own and encouraging everyone to share their projects as well.

Amanda Hall was crocheting an afghan for her son, a sophomore at Austintown Fitch High School. He asked her to make one for the bus rides on the way home from football games.

Hall said she enjoys coming to a place and seeing other people that also enjoy this type of crafting.

“I like getting out with other people that do the same thing,” Hall said.

Janet Morgan and her daughter came to the library for It’s All About Yarn for the first time.

“We were in a group before and it kind of fell apart and we stopped for awhile, but now we want to get started again,” Morgan said.

Both Morgan and her daughter said they were excited to come back and be with people who share the same interest again.

There is no registration required for this class – Saunders said it isn’t necessary because she has an infinite supply of yarn.

With its variety of members, including those experienced in crocheting, the event also boasts an infinite supply of knowledge.

“There’s enough knowledge in this room that if you get stuck on something, somebody can walk you through it,” Saunders said. “There are all kinds of opinions here that I can get.”

The next two classes are on Sept. 21 and Oct. 19, both starting at 7 p.m. at the Boardman library.
