ALLIANCES

Ohio Cultural Alliance will meet for a 6 p.m. dinner meeting Sept. 14 at Holy Family Church Hall, 2729 Center Road, Poland. George Beelen, Ph.D., will address “Going Places with the Ohio Cultural Alliance: Cuba.” Beelen teaches history at Youngstown State University and speaks about Latin America in the community. Cultural enrichment will be provided by dancers from the Fred Astaire Dance Studio in Boardman. Membership, which runs from September to December, is $25 per person. The cost of each meeting is $15 for each paid member and $20 for each nonmember. Reservations may be mailed to OCA, P.O. Box 561, Canfield, OH 44406-0561 and are due by Sept. 9.

ASSOCIATIONS

Mill Creek Chapter of the American Business Women’s Association will meet at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 8 at A La Cart Catering, 429 Lisbon St., Canfield. Bill Arnaut, police chief for the Canfield Fairgrounds, will speak. The menu comprises roast beef, stuffed shells, sandtrap potatoes, Italian vegetables, tossed salad, tomato, pepper and onion salad, applesauce, rolls and butter, and coffee and tea. Network Council of the American Business Women’s Association will sponsor its annual ABW Day at noon Sept. 20 at A La Cart Catering in Canfield. The lunch is $20 and consists of Swiss chicken, roast pork, stuffed shells, sandtrap potatoes, California vegetable medley, cherries in the snow, rolls and butter, and beverages. Guest speakers will include Mr. and Mrs. Jim Sutman, owners of Gallagher’s Lunch Bucket in the Oak Hill Renaissance Building, The Purple Cat and Golden String Radio, programs that have been developed for adults with disabilities.
