Boardman man charged with riding bicycle while impaired, causing accident

BOARDMAN

A township man faces an impaired-driving charge for allegedly riding a bicycle and causing an accident while intoxicated.

Ian Davis, 30, of Washington Boulevard, was cited for operating a vehicle while impaired, OVI refusal with a prior conviction and operating a bicycle without lights.

The charges stem from an incident on Maple Avenue late Tuesday, when police were called for a hit-skip accident with injuries.

Davis told police he had been struck by a vehicle, causing minor injuries. Davis was determined to be at fault for the incident.

Police say Davis has prior OVI convictions from 2006, 2007 and 2011.Â
