Woman suffers gunshot wound

Police are investigating after a woman suffered a gunshot wound to the chest early Wednesday.
Police found the 20-year-old woman inside a home in the 300 block of Mistletoe Avenue just before 8 a.m. Reports said when they arrived her boyfriend and her brother were inside and the brother was holding a shirt on her chest where she was wounded.
The pair said the woman told them she was walking to a nearby fast-food restaurant when she was shot and came back to the home.
Reports said there were no reports of gunfire in the area.
The woman is being treated at St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital.
Discount tickets for Canfield Fair
CANFIELD
People attending the Canfield Fair have a final chance to save on gate admission to the event this year.
Discount gate admission tickets are on sale through Tuesday at the fair office, 7265 Columbiana-Canfield Road.
The prices are $30 for a six-day adult pass for a $12 savings and $15 for a three-day adult pass for a $6 savings.
Each ticket purchased under this plan admits one person to the fair, so six tickets will allow six people to attend one day, or one person to attend six days.
The fair administration building is open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
The 2015 fair runs Wednesday through Labor Day, Sept. 7.

Benefit planned
AUSTINTOWN
Zvara Tax Service & Notary, 3933 Mahoning Ave., is sponsoring a benefit event for homebound Darlene Fitzgerald, 61, of Austintown, who was diagnosed with Leukemia in April.
The benefit, from 2 to 6 p.m. Saturday, includes a 40-basket auction, 50/50 raffle and food and drinks.
