County health board sets plans for fair food inspections

CANFIELD

Mahoning County District Board of Health staff members today finalized plans for inspection of the estimated 400 food stands expected at the 169th Canfield Fair which runs Wednesday through Monday at the Canfield Fairgrounds.

In addition to inspecting food stands, said Ryan Tekac, director of the health department’s environmental health division, food vendors who need licenses can get them at the department’s office in the Red Cross Building next to the grand stand.

Also, the department is placing signs in restrooms and animal barns urging people to thoroughly wash their hands before eating food, Tekac said.
