Arrest made in Boardman jewelry heist case

ALIQUIPPA, PA. — The man police believe is responsible for a Boardman jewelry store heist now is in police custody.

Charged with aggravated burglary is Norman Harvey, of Gregory Street in Aliquippa.

Harvey was taken into custody by Pennsylvania State Parole officers Tuesday on two warrants out of Boardman.

Police say Harvey is the man who on Aug. 18 attempted to steal nearly $100,000 worth of jewelry from Cirelli Jewelers on Market Street. The business owner shot and injured the man.

Harvey later showed up at a Pennsylvania hospital with a gunshot wound. All hospitals in the area had been alerted to look out for a man fitting his description.

Harvey also is charged with making a fraudulent return at a Lowe’s store in Boardman earlier this month.
