People line up to take chances on the Queen of Hearts game

AUSTINTOWN — The jackpot for a game of chance at an area restaurant is expected to hit $300,000 Wednesday night.

There was a steady stream of Valley residents entering Barry Dyngle's Pub, 1601 S. Raccoon Road, late this morning to buy a ticket for the Queen of Hearts game.

People can buy one ticket for $1 and write the number they think will be selected, a phone number to reach them and their name. There are 11 numbers left to choose from on the board. The Queen of hearts pays the full jackpot if the person's ticket selected is there Wednesday night. If that person is not there, they get half.

Many people were coming during lunch time Tuesday varying the amount of tickets bought from $32 to $20 to one man who bought $2 worth.

Taylor Jones, 18, has been a server at the restaurant for almost a year and started to sell tickets in the front of the area of the store in the last few weeks. She said the most one person has spent on tickets she has seen is $600 worth.

"None of us could have ever imagined it would get this big," Jones said. She said she frequently laughs as many people turn in their filled out tickets hoping that it will be pulled.

"Before we even opened [Tuesday], there was a line out the door" for people wanting to get tickets, she said.

Many people said they would pay off bills or debt if they win Wednesday night.
