Frank B. Clark Jr., 34, of Watson-Marshall Road in McDonald, was arraigned Monday in Niles Municipal Court on felonious assault, accused of pushing his girlfriend out of a moving car on Interstate 80 at Salt Springs Road at 2:30 a.m. Sunday and punching her in the face.

No plea was entered, and a bond of $25,000 was set.

The woman, 38, also of the Watson-Marshall Road address, said she drove herself and Clark home after the assault, and neighbors called 911 because of arguing.

The victim had multiple lacerations and “road rash” on both arms and her stomach when Weathersfield Township and McDonald police arrived at the home.

Her face was red and her eyes puffy, and she had a swollen and bloody mouth and lip. She was limping and complaining of pain to her leg and hip and elsewhere, police said. She refused medical treatment.

When police found Clark a short time later and arrested him, he told police he had not been with the woman that day and said a laceration on his face had nothing to do with her.
