Shelby Berend had 26 digs and Jen Eich had 30 assists for Poland. Bailey Drapola had 15 kills and Kenzie Drapola had 15 points, 14 digs and eight kills for the Warriors. Brookfield also got 33 assists, 14 digs and 10 points from Katie Bender and six blocks from Tori Sheehan.

Sophomore R.J. Thomas scored three goals in his first varsity start to lead Canfield (1-0). Jowad Atway, Justin Montazeri, Justin Jickess, Alex Schill, Sam Accordino and Brandon Seybert also scored, while Ben Feuer and Sam Accordino each added two assists. Christian Hume and Alec Simone each added one assist, while Jeff Joseph and Nick Piersante combined on the shutout. Marshall Ney and Caleb Higgins combined on six saves for the Warriors. Justin Bofenkamp had five saves for JFK before getting red-carded with 30 minutes left, forcing the Eagles (0-1-1) to play one player short the rest of the way. Ethan Watson had three saves. Girard’s Bailey McDermott (1-0-1) made five saves in goal.

Emily Marsico scored two goals, Malena Whitfield had a goal and an assist and Sarah Malvasi had a goal as the Indians beat the Eagles. Alexia Page-Boyd made eight saves for Girard. The Indians had 26 shots on goal and scored all their goals in the second half after the teams played a scoreless first half.
