Cafaro Foundation donates $5,000 to Struthers schools

STRUTHERS — The Cafaro Foundation presented a check for $5,000 to the Struthers School Foundation for Educational Excellence during a ceremony this morning at Struthers High School on Euclid Avenue.

The Struthers School Foundation for Educational Excellence, a nonprofit organization, operates independently of the board of education and donates items to public schools such as supplemental reading materials and computer equipment.

"As we see it, giving to educational opportunities is a no-brainer," Anthony Cafaro, Sr. said. "Education is more than just teaching fact. It allows for analysis ... and provides moral framework."

The Cafaro family founded the Cafaro Foundation in 1996 in memory of William M. Cafaro, the founder of a real estate development and management company.
