Boardman faves OVI charge after Monday incident

BOARDMAN — A township man faces an impaired-driving charge after an incident on U.S. Route 224 near Pheasant Drive late Monday.

Charged with operating a vehicle while impaired is Michael Buchenic, 24, of West Boulevard.

Buchenic reportedly returned to the scene after someone who, according to a police report, recklessly swerved to avoid being hit by Buchenic's vehicle was stopped by police.

Buchenic registered a blood-alcohol content of .195. The legal limit in Ohio is .08.

He also was charged with a lanes of travel violation. He is scheduled to appear in court Thursday.
