U.S. Secretary of Commerce Penny Pritzker will tour America Makes

YOUNGSTOWN

U.S. Secretary of Commerce Penny Pritzker will tour America Makes – National Additive Manufacturing Innovation Institute in downtown Youngstown on Thursday along with U.S. Rep. Tim Ryan.

President Barack Obama created the National Network for Manufacturing Innovation to strengthen the global competitiveness of America’s manufacturing section and its workforce, and the first location is in Youngstown, according to Ryan of Howland, D-13th. The Youngstown facility was the first in the nation to open a year ago.

America Makes is focused on additive manufacturing and 3D printing

While at the institute, Pritzker will tour the facility, meet with the leadership of the institute, and participate in a roundtable with local business leaders and industry partners from the Youngstown community to discuss NAMI’s role in strengthening America’s economy and workforce.
