Monique Irwin of Youngstown and James Tabak of Struthers exchanged wedding vows June 13 at the Anne Christman Memorial Hall in Stambaugh Auditorium. The Rev. Brittany Houlihan officiated at the 4 p.m. ceremony. A reception followed at The Embassy in Boardman.
The couple took a wedding trip to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, and reside in Pittsburgh.
The bride, daughter of Iris Irwin of Youngstown and Richard and Sofia Irwin of Hubbard, received a doctorate in audiology from the University of Pittsburgh and an undergraduate degree in speech and hearing from Ohio State University. She is employed as a pediatric audiologist at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh, UPMC.
Her husband, son of James and Joann Tabak of Struthers, earned a bachelor’s degree in physical education from Youngstown State University.
The bride wore a diamond-white draped gown with a tulle bodice embellished with beaded lace appliques and a sweetheart neckline. The back featured a long line of buttons and a full tulle skirt with a modified cathedral train.
Victoria Cercone was matron of honor, and Amanda Irwin, the bride’s sister, was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Alison Rivera, sister-in-law of the bride; April Platt, sister of the groom; Aubrie Davidson; Katelyn Hill; Abby McClelland; Talia Hullum; and Kendra Landis. Audelina Irwin, niece of the bride, participated as the flower girl. The attendants wore coral-colored gowns.
Joshua Shields performed the duties of best man. Groomsmen were Cory Irwin, brother of the bride, Ty Campana, John Defrank, Ron Balog and Norman Macias. The groom’s nephew Christian Platt was ring bearer.
