Jury once again convicts Ohio man of rigging wife’s car
CLEVELAND (AP) — A jury in Cleveland has for the second time convicted a northeastern Ohio man accused of trying to kill his wife by rigging her car.
Ronald Miller, 76, of Richmond Heights was found guilty today of attempted aggravated murder, attempted murder and felonious assault. He was accused of trying to kill 76-year-old Rhoda Miller by rigging her car’s engine in February 2013.
Prosecutors say Rhoda Miller avoided hurting anyone by driving through the front window of a nail salon at a suburban Cleveland shopping center. A tow truck driver found a wooden shim in the car’s throttle mechanism.
An appellate court overturned Ronald Miller’s 2014 conviction and ordered a new trial.
Miller served as his own attorney during the latest trial. He faces 11 years in prison.
