Alumni association finalizes plans for fundraiser

SPECIAL TO THE VINDICATOR Austintown Alumni Association met recently to finalize preparations for the 2016 fundraiser. Members are selling books of six raffle tickets for $5 or individual tickets for $1 each. First prize will be $500; second prize, a variety of gift certificates worth at least $250; and third prize, dinner for two at Rachel’s Restaurant plus a bouquet of flowers every month for a year from Something Unique Florist. Profits from this project, as well as donations from friends and members, will support the association’s scholarship fund. Scholarships of $7,000 were awarded to Fitch seniors in June 2015. Winners of the raffle will be announced at the Austintown Hall of Fame football game Oct. 2. Winners do not need to be present.
