Youngstown native Jack LoGiudice, who was part of the original writing team for “The Walking Dead,” has been brought back for the prequel TV series “Fear the Walking Dead.”

“I was lucky that AMC, Robert Kirkman and David Erickson asked me to be a consulting producer on the first season of ‘Fear the Walking Dead,’” said LoGiudice in an email. “They deserve enormous credit for presenting the apocalypse from a different point of view.”

Kirkman is the creator of “The Walking Dead” and “Fear the Walking Dead,” while Erickson is the showrunner.

The new series shows how the zombie apocalypse got started.

LoGiudice wrote the third episode of “Fear,” which premieres tonight at 9. He was the only one brought back from the original team. Kirkman and Erickson wrote the pilot.

There are only six episodes in the first season — same as the first season of “The Walking Dead.”

LoGiudice said he will not be back for the second season of “Fear the Walking Dead.”

That’s because he is co-executive producer and writer on the second season of the Netflix series “Narcos,” which premieres Friday.

LoGiudice’s television writing credits also include “Sons of Anarchy,” “Resurrection Blvd.,” “Street Time” and “7th Heaven.”
