Austintown Senior Center, 100 Westchester Drive, has planned the following: Monday, active exercise at 8 a.m., 30 minutes with God and senior spinning at 9, Piloxing, bingo, painting class and quilting at 10 and lunch at noon; Tuesday, active exercise at 8 a.m., video class: ancient technology and pilates/yoga at 9, S.O.S. at 9:30, bingo, quilting and crocheting at 10, line dancing at 10:30, chair yoga at 11:30, lunch at noon, car cruise at 5 p.m. and paint and taste at 6; Wednesday, active exercise at 8 a.m., 30 minutes with God and blood pressure checks at 9, bingo, quilting and BP Express at 10, senior spinning at 10:30, $3 pizza party at noon and TOPS at 1 p.m.; Thursday, active exercise at 8 a.m., video class: inventions that changed the world at 8:50, vets helping vets, wood carving and aerobics at 9, S.O.S. at 9:30, chair yoga, quilting and crocheting at 10, knitting at 11 and monthly birthday party, lunch and bingo at noon; and Friday, active exercise at 8 a.m., 30 minutes with God and video class: Skeptics American History at 9, bingo, quilting and senior spinning class 1 at 10, senior spinning E at 10:30, yoga at 11 and out to lunch bunch at 1:30 p.m. For information call 330-953-1416 or visit www.austintownseniorcenter.webs.com.

Girard Multi-Generation Center will present “A Matter of Balance: Managing Concerns about Falls” at the Liberty Administration Building, 1315 Church Hill-Hubbard Road, Youngstown. The classes will be from 1 to 2:30 Tuesdays and Thursdays through Sept. 10. Many older adults experience concerns about falling and restrict their activities. Participants will learn fall prevention strategies along with specific exercises designed to increase their strength, endurance, flexibility and balance. The program is free. Guardian Angels of Ohio, a volunteer program of Trumbull County Probate Court, is looking for new volunteers. Angel volunteers receive training to become advocates who reach out as friends to seniors who may need a friendly phone call, a visit in a nursing home, or a visit at home. Angels also are involved in planning special events for seniors such as health fairs and Make a Difference day projects. The next meeting will take place at 5:30 p.m. Sept. 1 at Shepherd of the Valley, 4100 North River Road, Warren. Reservations are necessary for the dinner at 5 p.m., which costs $6.50 per person. Hubbard Senior Center, 220 W. Liberty St., will serve Hubbard-area senior citizens a hot meal at 3 p.m. Monday through Friday. For anyone who cannot come into the center, a meal will be delivered to their home. Donations are accepted for meals. Lord of Life Church, 550 N. Broad St., Canfield, will host a Gathering Place event at 11 a.m. Sept. 14. Jeanette and Preston Hess will talk about Seniors Helping Seniors, and a light lunch will be provided. This is a free community outreach social program offered to all senior citizens, which takes place on the second Monday of each month. Games and activities are offered.
