A summary of recent criminal activity in Hubbard and Girard:

HUBBARD

Aug. 15

Criminal mischief: Someone in the 200 block of East Liberty Street struck a vehicle’s driver’s side with eggs.

Animal complaint: An officer on routine patrol in the 100 block of Rebecca Avenue noticed a loose pit bull before reminding the owner of the city’s confinement laws.

Identity fraud: A West Liberty Street woman discovered a suspicious $300 transaction from her bank account that originated in Iowa.

Arrest: Police responded to a report of an intoxicated person in the 700 block of Gary Drive, where they charged 19-year-old David G. Airgood of Hager Street, Hubbard, with underage consumption of alcohol. Airgood’s blood-alcohol count was 0.123, a report showed. The legal limit for intoxication in Ohio is 0.08.

Domestic violence: David R. Shamblin, 54, of Woodland Avenue, Hubbard, was charged with the crime after his daughter alleged an intoxicated Shamblin had thrown items around the residence, which broke glass and caused the accuser to receive a cut on her foot and fear for her safety.

Aug. 17

Menacing: A Clingan Street man alleged a neighbor had posted on Facebook slanderous material and an implied threat against him, causing the accuser to fear for his and his family’s safety.

Aug. 18

Pursuit: A man in his 20s on a dirt bike led officers on a pursuit through the city that reached speeds up to 60 mph. Authorities called off the chase for safety reasons.

Aug. 19

Arrest: Authorities at the Mahoning County jail picked up Stephanie D. Buxton of West Evergreen Avenue, Youngstown. The 25-year-old Buxton was wanted on a Girard Municipal Court warrant charging failure to appear in court.

Domestic violence: Robert L. Anderson II, 37, of Doris Drive, Hubbard, faced a felony domestic-violence charge and one misdemeanor count of obstructing official business after a woman alleged he had choked her nearly to the point of unconsciousness and punched her face. Anderson, who has four prior convictions, also led police on a foot chase, a report stated.

GIRARD

Aug. 15

Arrest: Police charged 40-year-old Matthew Reppart with disorderly conduct after an officer said he saw Reppart, of East Prospect Street, Girard, staggering through nearby yards. Reppart who was intoxicated, also was noncompliant and belligerent toward officers, they alleged.

Assault: Two people in the 100 block of East Second Street each reported having been assaulted by the other as part of ongoing problems between them.

Arrest: Authorities arrested 25-year-old Ella D. Lewis at a U.S. Route 422 fast-food restaurant. Lewis, of Illinois Avenue, Girard, was wanted on a warrant charging felonious assault.

Aug. 17

Theft: An East Kline Street man reported a 12-gauge shotgun valued at $400 stolen.

Harassment: A Trumbull Court couple said two people had sent them threatening and harassing text messages.

Identity fraud: A Squaw Creek Drive woman found out that three unauthorized transactions totaling about $201 and originating in New York had been made to her credit-card account.

Theft: A $200 lawn mower was taken from a residence in the 700 block of Church Hill Road.

Harassment: A Trumbull Avenue woman told officers her former boyfriend has been harassing her via cellphone messages, emails and social media posts.

Aug. 18

Burglary: To a home in the 200 block of East Kline Street, where $208 was missing from a man’s wallet.

Trespassing: A man and his caseworker reported several people have come and gone from his East Broadway Avenue apartment and eaten his food.

Arrest: Delila M. Dawson, 24, was taken into custody at her Elruth Court apartment. The Girard woman was wanted on a felony warrant from Niles charging assault.
