‘Back to church’

YOUNGSTOWN

Faith Fellowship Church of God, 388 E. Midlothian Blvd., will conduct “Back to Church Sunday” at 10:45 a.m. Sunday with a baptismal service.

A barbecue will follow, then singing in the afternoon. Safire Son Singers of Mount Vernon, Ohio, will be featured.

Workshops for women

CANFIELD

A three-part discipleship workshop, “Celebrate the Savior,” for women of all Christian faiths will be offered from either 10 to 11:30 a.m. or 6:30 to 8 p.m. Tuesdays, Sept. 22, Oct. 27 and Nov. 24, at the Ursuline Center, 4280 Shields Road. The donation is $5 per class.

Carol Craven, former director of religious education for St. Paul the Apostle Parish in New Middletown, is facilitator.

Schedule will be: Sept. 22: Patsy Clairmont “God is in the Valleys and the Mountaintops;” Oct. 27, Sheila Walsh, “God is Crazy about Us, Just As We Are;” and Nov. 24, Marilyn Meberg, “From Death to Life in Jesus Christ.”

Guest speaker

CORTLAND

Pastor Scott Lively, activist and author, will speak at 6 p.m. Wednesday at Doers of the Word Baptist Church, 162 S. Higih St.

His talk is presented by What’s Right, What’s Left Ministries and Geauga County Right to Life.

Pastor Lively is president of Abiding Truth Ministries, Temccula, Calif., and author of “Pink Swastika.”
