AUSTINTOWN
Hynes Industries has purchased the competition to grow its operation and list of customers.
The Henricks Road producer of roll-formed shapes and strip-steel products acquired American Roll Form of Painesville, Hynes announced Friday.
“It is a tremendous advantage,” said Gregg Gyllstrom, Hynes chief executive officer and president. “We now have a West Coast location.”
Gyllstrom would not comment on the cost to purchase American Roll Form, a full-service, custom metal fabricator that was founded in 1960.
The move by Hynes is the first of its kind in the company’s 90-year history.
Hynes will have manufacturing operations in Painesville and Las Vegas, Nev., in addition to Hynes’ Austintown and Kokomo, Ind., facilities. The Hynes brand will take over the American Roll Form brand.
“American Roll Form is allowing us to pick up manufacturing and a broader array of customers,” Gyllstrom said. “It’s a great way to celebrate our 90th anniversary.”
Earlier this year, Hynes moved multiple operations in the Mahoning Valley into one centralized location on Henricks Road. The company also installed a state-of-the-art roll-forming line at its new spot.
The Austintown location has 161 employees. Now, the company will have more than 200 employees across its footprint with its recent acquisition.
