Judge sentences Youngstown man to 23-year prison term

YOUNGSTOWN — A 43-year-old Tod Lane man received a 23-year prison this morning in Mahoning County Common Pleas Court for his role in a May 24 homicide.

Wesley Blackshear was sentenced by Judge Maureen A. Sweeney. He pleaded guilty in June to a count of involuntary manslaughter and two counts of aggravated robbery for the May 24, 2014 death of Brenden Moorer, 34, of Campbell.

Moorer’s body was found in a car that was left in the parking lot of a McGuffey Road gas station. Police said he was killed during a drug deal.
