CANFIELD
The merger of a local personal-injury law firm with a Columbus-based debt-relief, credit-law and consumer-protection firm gives each firm more coverage area and added service for their clients.
Atty. Gary George announced Thursday he merged his firm with Canfield-based Betras, Kopp & Harshman.
George will offer his services in Betras, Kopp & Harshman offices in the Mahoning Valley, Pennsylvania and Florida.
The Capital University Law School graduate is awaiting admission to the Florida Bar and will then practice in Betras, Kopp & Harshman’s Tampa, Fla., office.
“It is an excellent opportunity to expand into other areas,” George said. “Many of the hardworking men and women I represent get into financial trouble due to layoffs, cut in pay, illness or a tough economy. My clients are often surprised by the options available to them, and at times, they may be able to recover money from abusive bill collectors.”
Attorneys at Betras, Kopp & Harshman, which specializes in personal injury, vehicle accident and medical malpractice victims, criminal law, domestic and family law and sports law, will also offer services in Columbus.
“I am excited always to expand the business,” said David Betras, managing partner. “We are pleased by the merger because we will now be able to help Valley families deal with a wide range of financial issues including student loans, bill-collector harassment, credit-card debt, judgment liens, medical bills and more.”
