Ashtabula authorities probe whether remains connected to missing Warren women
ROAMING SHORES — Ashtabula County authorities have confirmed that human remains were found at a house on U.S. Route 6 just west of state Route 45 Thursday during a drug investigation and that Warren police are part of the investigation because of two missing Warren girls.
One of the missing girls is Alesha Bell, 18, who was reported missing by her mother July 23.
Ashtabula County Sheriff William "Billy" Johnson said a man was taken into custody in connection to the drug investigation, but that man is not being identified until his arraignment, which he believes will take place Monday.
He added that the man is being held on drug-related offenses, but there is a possibility that other charges will be added before his arraignment.
He said it's not possible to say whether the remains that were found belong to either of the missing females from Warren or whether they are male or female.
The Ashtabula Star Beacon reported today that the Warren police department had been investigating the arrested man prior to Thursday, but not for drugs.
