Warren police question 2 boys in arson attempt

WARREN — Police questioned two boys accused of setting a fire Wednesday in the street in the 200 block of Austin Avenue Northwest after threatening to burn down another child’s home.

A girl, 11, said the boys came to her home Wednesday and threatened to burn her house down. She said she saw the boys lighting a fire in the street in front of her house at 9:37 p.m. and running away.

Police found an empty bottle of lighter fluid on the sidewalk in front of the boys’ home, which was nearby on Austin. Police advised the victims to file charges through Warren Municipal Court.
